3rd International Congress on Strigolactones

October 19-21, 2021, Beijing, China

 Welcome to ICS2021

3rd International Congress on Strigolactones

The 3rd International Congress on Strigolactones (ICS2021), which was previously scheduled to be held in Beijing in 2020, but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, now has been scheduled as INTERNET meeting (via ZOOM) during Beijing Time October 19-21, 2021. We hope you and your family are fine in these challenging times!

The 1st ICS was held in Wageningen, the Netherlands in 2015 and the 2nd ICS was held in Turin, Italy in 2017. Now the 3rd ICS provides the opportunity for strigolactone research to be showcased via free INTERNET meeting, which would benefit more researchers in strigolactone community.

Strigolactones are plant signalling compounds that play a central role in many aspects of plant biology from ecosystems to crop production. Strigolactones act as endogenous signals to control shoot branching and many other developmental processes in plants, and serve as rhizosphere signals to regulate interactions of host plants with heterologous organisms such as beneficial arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and harmful root parasitic weeds. They also mediate diverse plant responses to pathogens, soil nutrients and abiotic environmental stresses. In the last 15 years strigolactone research has transformed our understanding of plant biology and continues to advance very rapidly.

This congress will bring together worldwide experts online to discuss the latest research in all these aspects from chemistry and molecular biology to plant physiology and ecology. The Congress will include invited expert speeches and oral talks selected from abstracts submitted by postdocs and graduate students.

An option of ONSITE meeting held in Tsinghua University, China will  be offered to conference attendees within Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region of China. The historic campus of Tsinghua University was built in the grounds of the imperial residence of Qianlong Emperor of the Qing Dynasty. Although most of the conference attendees can meet only in INTERNET room due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we still cordially welcome all of you to visit Tsinghua University and other places of China in the near future at your convenient time.

Now, we warmly invite researchers from around the world to meet through INTERNET to share their latest research with the international community of strigolactone researchers!
